I am running for League City Council Position 7. Jim Nelson,
whose time and commitment to our seniors will always be remembered, has chosen not to run again. League City is blessed to have four individuals who care enough about it and good government to put their names forward for the position and its my honor to be one of them.
League City is a wonderful place filled with some of the best people in the world. We are blue collar plant workers, NASA employees and contractors, fishermen, business owners and much much more, all together in a small town with a rancher/farmer heritage. We are new here as well third, fourth, fifth and so on generation here. We are fiercely proud and openly welcoming to newcomers at the same time. We are a community, located on Clear Creek. We are League City.
Our biggest challenges are the types that come from being such a wonderful place. Our little city has grown and will grow so fast that we are stretched to the limits dealing with expanding infrastructure and essential services to meet the needs of all the new residents and businesses.
Your support will establish this campaign as the early leader and help promote League City citizens' desire for common sense conservative, small but effective government and a lower taxes point of view. Come on let's work together and put an end to the "feel good spending" that so often actually frustrates the very real and important work of local government.
My goals are to maintain and increase the city focus on critical infrastructure (water, sewer, streets, increased traffic mobility, drainage) and essential services (police, emergency management, EMT's and fire, garbage collection) while constantly evaluating other government efforts in a long term approach to seeing lower taxes & fees. Together with this focus we can improve & maintain the quality of life in League City while also easing the burden on taxpayers for the cost of government.
