ILLEGAL aliens. Why do we condone any actions, physical or verbal, by a segment of our population that by it's own definition is in direct opposition to our justice system and our rights as CITIZENS? I'm not talking about immigrants who follow the rules and become citizens. They deserve all the respect and rights associated with their accomplishments. LEGAL aliens give, ILLEGAL aliens take. I don't I agree with every side sentiment expressed but I do know that both letters are capturing the frustation felt by thousands of Galveston County residents. More of my frustration comes from the fact the some of the leaders neglecting this problem are people I worked hard to get elected. I am still confident in President Bush and our overall leadership but we the GOP are failing America in our handling of the border.<BR/><BR/><BR/><B>We Should Take Care Of Texans First</B><BR/><BR/>My condolences to all those who have no health insurance.<BR/><BR/>I recently learned that, if you have no health insurance, you can no longer get the health care you need in Texas.<BR/><BR/>Most working families have little money left at the end of the month, so what do they do? This is totally ridiculous to me.<BR/><BR/>I know that services used to be provided for our residents in this state but, apparently, we are overloaded with illegal residents and others who have no insurance.<BR/><BR/>Our government seems to be punishing those residents who actually work in the lower-paying jobs, who have no insurance and are trying to provide for their families and not be a burden to anyone.<BR/><BR/>So, if you need health care, should you quit your job, work only for cash and pay no taxes, so that you could then receive benefits?<BR/><BR/>It seems that our government should find a way to provide health care for all those who are legal residents of this country.<BR/><BR/>Of course, we want to provide basic services to everyone, but maybe this idea of cheap labor has backfired on the economy of this and other states.<BR/><BR/>Take a look at who benefits from this labor force — not your average working American, for sure.<BR/><BR/>Many of those jobs that used to be done by Americans are no longer available and more jobs are being outsourced overseas in other countries.<BR/><BR/><I>K.S.
