The Tie Between Illegal Aliens and High Taxes

Taxes are too high!
But to be fair the gluttonous overspending of incumbent County Judge Jim Yarbrough is not the only reason.
Another problem is that there is a huge illegal alien population in Texas and Galveston County.
Personally, I grew up dirt poor and I have a deep compassion for anyone trying to escape poverty through hard work and challenging adversity head on. However, having this massive illegal subeconomy is choking our governmental welfare services, our health care system, our healthcare welfare services, our school system and many other portions of our economy and society which are designed for citizens and legal residents.
One thing that will help to recapture some of the illegal wages is for the state to shift part of the current burden of property taxes to sales taxes. Another is to tax all money wires going out of the country (i.e transfers back to Mexico, El Salvador or Costa Rica).
As County Judge I would try to work with the Sheriff, local, state and federal law enforcement and social services groups to try to increase enforcement of the law and mitigation of the extreme costs that illegal aliens are burdening our systems with. Also I would lobby Democrats as well as my fellow Republicans in Austin and Washington to try to find their spine in dealing with border security.
We cannot continue rewarding illegal behavior. If you have suggestions on how our local county or the State can deal with this problem please post below.
Thanks,
Chris

By the way, before I’m asked, No I don't agree with AMNESTY programs. What we need right now is strict BORDER PROTECTION and an end to the programs that coddle illegal aliens into staying here.
You guys drop a line and let me know what you think.

Here's a couple of letters to the editor from the Galveston Daily News, Saturday May 29th. I don't I agree with every side sentiment expressed but I do know that both letters are capturing the frustation felt by thousands of Galveston County residents. More of my frustration comes from the fact the some of the leaders neglecting this problem are people I worked hard to get elected. I am still confident in President Bush and our overall leadership but we the GOP are failing America in our handling of the border.
We Should Take Care Of Texans First
My condolences to all those who have no health insurance.
I recently learned that, if you have no health insurance, you can no longer get the health care you need in Texas.
Most working families have little money left at the end of the month, so what do they do? This is totally ridiculous to me.
I know that services used to be provided for our residents in this state but, apparently, we are overloaded with illegal residents and others who have no insurance.
Our government seems to be punishing those residents who actually work in the lower-paying jobs, who have no insurance and are trying to provide for their families and not be a burden to anyone.
So, if you need health care, should you quit your job, work only for cash and pay no taxes, so that you could then receive benefits?
It seems that our government should find a way to provide health care for all those who are legal residents of this country.
Of course, we want to provide basic services to everyone, but maybe this idea of cheap labor has backfired on the economy of this and other states.
Take a look at who benefits from this labor force — not your average working American, for sure.
Many of those jobs that used to be done by Americans are no longer available and more jobs are being outsourced overseas in other countries.

Stop The Benefits To Illegal Immigrants
In Texas we do not have common politicians in our legislative offices. Our representatives have no common ground whatsoever, have lost all common values and most definitely have no common sense.
If a few of these self-serving elected officials would get off their cell phones, trying to look important, and represent the people who put them there, I am certain a light would come on and, wow, like a revolution, the solution would be forthcoming.
Let’s stop the education of illegal immigrants in Texas and stop asking Texas taxpayers to fund their education, their free breakfast and lunches at school.
While they are at it, they could stop their free health care and legal fees when they commit crimes against our people.
Now they are asking for more of your money to waste. Enough is enough.
Please be careful and study your candidate before you vote. Let’s can these no-common-sense politicians.

You may have been poor, but there must have also been a lack of oxygen in your home. I say this with the utmost sincerity, "Are you right in the head?"

The key word here is ILLEGAL! ILLEGAL aliens. Why do we condone any actions, physical or verbal, by a segment of our population that by it's own definition is in direct opposition to our justice system and our rights as CITIZENS? I'm not talking about immigrants who follow the rules and become citizens. They deserve all the respect and rights associated with their accomplishments. LEGAL aliens give, ILLEGAL aliens take. That's the difference.
